I wanted this to be a group of 5 people making each stepping stone and no one signed up. Instead they all came in a big group. They did one part of the art, and I spent three days finishing the mosaics like I do when I cut, glue, grout and seal. I haven't done mosaic stepping stones in years. No wonder. It takes three days!

I remember the activity director didn't get anyone to sign up. The stones were heavy so when someone gave them to her she thought she could just drop it on the ground and that is when it broke. She didn't bend over and place it. These are heavy stones! I told her she could have the broken one. The thing is, I was not impressed, and I was cranky. This is hard work. The helper I had did the tile work art for MARTA in Atlanta. Neither one of us had mixed grout for that many people. I had done all the stones' art except for one, so we were learning on one stone and then grouting with the other stones so people could learn the process. The stones were placed in a nursing home near a bench for people to rest their feet on. Beauty for them. I did 10 stones for a friend who is gone. She moved and took her stepping stones!
